SPORTS MEDLEY FOR TOTS
[Hot Shots Sports]
Help your tot develop basic sports movement and motor skills. We provide the sports equipment and instruction to help guide your child through an introduction to organized sports, while focusing on hand/eye and hand/foot coordination. Monday mornings
[SportsKids]
Sign up your little one for the ultimate first-time sports experience! Each week, adults assist their tots as they play a body-challenging sport, improve listening skills, and learn how to follow directions. We explore a variety of sports such as soccer, t-ball, basketball, and kickball through fun games and partner play. This is a great opportunity to get active with your child in a positive and controlled setting. Bring a labeled water bottle. Friday mornings
[SportsKids]
We assist parents as they guide their children through exploratory movement, large motor play, and interactive activities. Through obstacle courses, balloons and paddles, ball skills, parachute time, creative exercises, free time play and sports games, children develop body awareness, build social skills, and expand their imaginations. This vivacious age deserves a vivacious and fun class to set the stage for an active, healthy lifestyle! Bring a labeled water bottle. Saturday mornings

We introduce kids to fundamentals of basketball, floor hockey, football, kickball, soccer, t-ball and more. Each child will develop motor skills and nurture his/her growth socially and emotionally though teamwork and good sportsmanship. Monday mornings

Children join the SportsKids staff for sporting fun in this exciting program! Boys and girls will try the skills used in soccer, basketball, floor hockey, t-ball and other sports. Please bring a labeled water bottle. Mondays at noon
Age 4-6

Let’s play! Each week, your child explores the wide world of sports as they participate in a different sport, such as t-ball, track & field, basketball, lacrosse and soccer. Children get a lot of practice with skills through creative and fun drills and games. Don’t miss out on the fun! Bring a labeled water bottle. Wednesday afternoons or Saturday mornings
ARCHERY
Age 6-13 w/adult

You and your child will meet new friends while learning the parts of an arrow and recurve bow; the basics of using the bow; a nationally-recognized beginner’s 9 steps to the 10-ring progression method; and fundamental shooting skills, from an experienced instructor. We provide the blunt-tipped arrows, bows, and targets. Saturday mornings
Age 7-13

Archery participants learn the parts of an arrow and recurve bow, the basics of using a recurve bow, and fundamental shooting skills in an extremely safe environment. They also learn an excellent, nationally-recognized beginner’s 9-steps to the 10-ring progression, created by the Coaches Development Committee of the National Archery Association. Both technique and games are part of this class. We provide the blunt-tipped arrows, bows, and targets. We offer Beginner and Advanced Beginner levels. Thursday afternoons
BASEBALL

[Wilmette Park District]
Join the Wilmette Park District coaching staff for our youth basketball clinics! Coaches instruct players through a variety of age-appropriate drills to develop ball handling skills, shooting form, and court awareness. Players apply these skills in fun games including sharks and minnows, dribble knockout, and steal the bacon. Assorted days/times by grade
FENCING
[Fencing Center of Chicago]
The Olympic sport of fencing demands a blend of tactical and strategic thought, and a physical execution of those decisions. We cover basic rules, etiquette, footwork, attacks and defenses. Classes consist of warmup time, footwork time, a group lesson and bouting. We provide all the equipment. Monday afternoons
FIELD HOCKEY
Participants of all levels learn the fundamentals and techniques of what it takes to be a field hockey player. Basic skills will be taught, as well as offensive and defensive strategies. A field hockey stick, shin guards and mouth guard are mandatory equipment. These clinics are for female field players only. Wednesday late afternoons
FOOTBALL
LACROSSE

Play lacrosse like the big kids! This recreational class covers basic lacrosse techniques including cradling, scooping, passing, catching, shooting, and goalie skills. We use age-appropriate-size sticks and softer balls for safety. Bring a labeled water bottle. Monday afternoons or Saturday mornings
MARTIAL ARTS

In our Pre-Karate classes, children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination through fun, yet disciplined, activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility. Watch your child’s confidence blossom as skills improve! Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. Note: beginning students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. Tuesday afternoons
[S. Karate]
Develop flexibility, strength and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. This program offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. Uniforms and Belt Testing are available from our instructor. Our Youth/Adult Youth, and Adult classes may train together. Beginning students may not join the current session after the second class has met. Tuesday evenings
[Y. Grand Master Kim]
Basic techniques of Taekwondo, combined with deep breathing exercises, help children develop proper posture, concentration and coordination. Practice of proper manners helps to develop courtesy, self-esteem and self-control. Class is taught in a relaxed and fun environment. Students should wear a martial arts uniform during class (white Taekwondo uniform-dobock, which can be ordered at the class). Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. ADULT PICKLEBALL

This class is for beginners who want to get introduced to the sport of pickleball and work on the fundamental skills. Players participate in drills to work on their forehand and backhand shots, serving, volleying, dinks and lobs. Through matches played each week, players will take their game to the next level by learning how to play smarter, not harder. We provide the equipment. Wednesday mornings and Thursday evenings
SOCCER
TRACK AND FIELD

This unique class combines stretching, movement, and other fitness concepts with running, jumping, throwing and other skills used in track and field. Children will work on body coordination, agility, balance, and self-confidence. The session will conclude with a fun-filled track and field meet on the last day of class. Please bring a labeled water bottle. Monday afternoons

This class introduces kids to track and field, one of the oldest sports that continues to grow that’s highlighted by the Olympics every four years. Our young athletes learn the jumping, running and throwing skills involved in the sport of track and field. They’ll practice sprints, relays, long-distance walking, running hurdles, long jump, discus throw and other track and field events. On the last day of class, we’ll have a fun-filled track and field meet! Please bring a labeled water bottle. Monday afternoons
VOLLEYBALL

This clinic explores the core volleyball skills; serving, passing, setting and attacking. Players build a solid foundation with these fundamental skills through fun and active drills, moving up to team play. This class is for the volleyball beginner looking to understand the game and learn new skills. Knee pads are recommended. Tuesday or Thursday evenings
