WOMEN’S PADDLE
Beginner Paddle is for those with little or no knowledge of Platform Tennis. Students learn the mechanics of basic strokes, scoring and Platform Tennis etiquette in a fun environment Assorted days/times
Women’s Advanced Beginner is for those players who have completed Beginner Paddle and have some experience with Platform Tennis. Students continue to build on what they learned in the Beginner class – the mechanics of basic strokes, strategy, scoring and Platform Tennis etiquette – in a fun environment. Assorted days/times
This class is designed for students who know Platform Tennis basics and/or have successfully completed our Beginner and Advanced Beginner classes, or have other match play experience. We review and continue to develop basic strokes, positioning and screen play, and add more shots to your repertoire. Class time focuses on consistency of strokes and doubles strategy. Assorted days/times
These classes are designed for team players. Each week, one stroke will be the focus of the first 45-60 minutes with coached match play for the final 30-45 minutes. We will work on specific techniques (grip needed, stance, etc.) to execute the stroke of the week. Lobs (Deck and Screen), Drives (Short and Medium), Volleys, Overheads (Depth, Targets, Contact Point, Spins, Pace Change, etc.) Serves, and more.
To participate in Team Clinics, a player must have played in the Chicago North Suburban Women’s Paddle League (for Wilmette or any other club).
Drills are held Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 9:30-11am and 5:30-7:00pm.
Summer Team Clinics are a great opportunity to work on your technique so you’re ready to rock it for the Fall Season!. Tuesdays or Wednesdays, mornings or early evenings
MEN’S PADDLE
This class is designed for students who know Platform Tennis basics. We review and continue to develop basic strokes, positioning and screen play, and add more shots to your repertoire. Class time focuses on consistency of strokes and doubles strategy. Thursdays 5:30-7
CO-ED PADDLE
This is a fun and dynamic format for learning all the basics of Platform Tennis, including court positioning, stroke technique, screen play, communication, scoring and rules of the game. This program is designed for beginners, advanced beginners and intermediates. We know you will love it! Wednesdays 5:30-7
JUNIOR PADDLE
Children have so much fun learning the basics of the game, they might not even realize they are in an instructional class designed to develop their racquet skills, help them gain confidence in their hand-eye coordination and learn the nuances of the sport! Mondays 5-6
In this class, students further develop skills learned in previous classes. Players engage in challenging, interactive games and drills and competitive point play, as well as agility and endurance exercises. We use a game-based approach. Monday or Wednesday afternoons Monday 5-6 or Wednesday 4:30-5:30
Children in this class enjoy fast-paced drills emphasizing match strategy, shot control, positioning and teamwork. We emphasize camaraderie, cooperation, sportsmanship and proper paddle etiquette. We use a game-based approach. Tuesdays or Wednesdays, 4:30-5:30
